Valentine's Day...Love is in the air

I had a trip planned for V Day. Brett and I will be married 25 years on that wonderful day. Due to my new job training schedule, I can't go on that trip. I look forward to celebrate in a future date with my husband. So go ahead, ask me how did I manage to keep a happy marriage for so long? If you really want to know my secret, here it is:
Communication - I know how to talk to Brett and he knows how to talk to me.
Admiration - He spoils me rotten, he treats me like his queen and tells me he loves everything about me, he hold me and kisses me everyday, we are crazy about each other.
Attraction - Loving ourselves first, alows us to love each other even more. I know when I gain weight I feel very insecure (I gained 8 lbs after Christmas). I guess we are meant to grow old in style. I'm happy for evey single surgery there is to make people look young and I'm not to far off from having my first face lift, and neither is Brett, hahaha.
Commitment - To the relationship, we are commited to stay together no matter what's trown our way.
Fun - That is self describable, FUN with the family and as a couple in everything you do.

Brett and I don't have much in common, he likes rock music I like pop, he plays different instruments, I play none, he likes foods I hate, I like dancing he really doesn't, he loves watching movies, I'm not to crazy about it, but I support his likes and he supports mine. What we do have in common is our religious beliefs, our moral up-bringing and shopping, Brett and I love to shop, I don't know how many guys enjoy shopping with their wives, but mine does, he likes me to "model" for him and try on new clothes and shop for bargains... we are huge bargain shoppers. We don't buy much that's not on sale. Another thing we do is pray, we pray for everything we love and we give thanks. Lately, our family has not been praying together and writing this down reminds me to do something about about it.
Trials - Brett and I have had our share of trials, we've been hit hard in 25 years... We lost a child together, we had ups and down with our relationship and children, he's had some terrible health issues, we are far from perfection. Every trial we've had has been a learning experience for us, and we have grown from it. I can honestly say I'm thanksful for my trials.. regarding my son that past away, I'm thankful for the three months he was here with us, and wouldn't trade those three months for anything in the world, even if I had to do it again. I hold on to the moment I get to see him once again. I'm indeed thankful for my trials.
